May the magic and wonder of the Holiday Season stay with you throughout the coming year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our Urge to Purge family to yours.
Animal hoarding is keeping a higher than usual number of animals as domestic pets without ability to properly house or care for them, while at the same time denying this inability. Compulsive hoarding can be characterized as a symptom of mental disorder rather than deliberate cruelty towards animals. Hoarders are deeply attached to their pets and find it extremely difficult to let the pets go.
Feces and ammonia found in pet waste can be extremely hazardous to the health of those living in the home and needs to be properly disposed of, with a deep cleaning/sanitization and deodorizing of the residence before reentering the home.
Due to widespread travel and limited pesticide uses now in effect, almost every city in the world has bed bugs. Adult bed bugs can reach up to five millimeters long, or the height of three stacked pennies. You can identify if you have bed bugs in the following ways:
- Check the mattress seams, box spring and bed frame
- Look in cracks and crevices around your furniture and baseboards
- Itchy welts on your body – often in groups of three
Urge to Purge can help in preventing Bed Bugs and our services include the following:
- Regular inspections
- Mattress removal
- Remove clutter
- Washing of your clothing, sheets, blankets, pillows, and mattress pads
- Seal cracks and crevices in bed frames, floors, walls and baseboards with caulking
- Wrapping and disposal of furniture to avoid cross contamination
Years of unchecked consumerism has led to an explosion of clutter, piling up in disarray leading to increased rates of anxiety and depression.
Clutter is insidious, it robs you of control. In many ways while clutter fills the space around us, it leaves us empty inside. Remember, clutter is filling but not fulfilling.
The reality is possessions in your house can accumulate over the years and turn into an unwanted feature of your life.
If you cannot get control of the stuff in your life take the steps to declutter now. Evidence suggests that keeping clutter around you will adversely affect your physical and mental well-being.
When surrounded by mess, the human body releases “cortisol” – a hormone that suppresses the immune system. When the clutter is cleared endorphins are released that makes your wellbeing take a positive turn.
Clutter increases allergies and mold and dust mites are also attributed to clutter. Headaches, fatigue and sinus problems can be related to the amount of clutter in a household.
A cluttered home/office is a visual psychic drain. Let go and your energy will rebound, get rid of the stagnant energy.
Clutter control is a problem many of us face. It is difficult to make this a priority with so many other pressing demands. Lack of space, organizing systems, lack of planning and lack of time impair our lives.
Our service allows reduction of stress, better family interaction, improved health and greater connection to family and friends.
Do you have feelings of guilt? Irritability? Loss of pleasure? Persistent fatigue? Difficulty concentrating or focusing on a task? A sense of hopelessness? All of these emotions can be directly related to living a clutter filled life.
If you have any of the above feelings on a daily basis, then it is time to optimize your life and your space. Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.
Clutter is a situation that tends to worsen the longer it remains unaddressed. Keeping clutter around will adversely affect your physical, emotional and spiritual health.
Psychologically, clutter represents things that are undone, unfinished, have no real meaning or significance or may be broken or useless.
The mess at home or work affects how you feel subconsciously. A cluttered home or office is a visual drain. Too much stuff makes you fatigued. Clutter makes you feel out of control of your life. Clutter keeps you from thinking clearly.
Due to your overwhelming situation at home or at the office your positive energy within your body becomes stagnant. You are allowing the clutter and disorder to become a negative burden. Let go and positive energy will rebound.
Clutter creates a haven for dust, dust mites and compromises your allergies and creates sinus problems. Indoor air pollution is evident.
When you declutter you refresh your positive energy. Clutter control clears space for new experiences, happy emotions, enchanting creativity and positive thoughts. When you purge things in your life that have no value, meaning or purpose, you will literally feel lighter and have far more energy.
Adhere to the simple saying – A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE and your home or office will have more harmonious feelings, allowing you to feel more relaxed and less stressed.
REACH OUT FOR THE SIMPLE LIFE.
GET RID OF ANYTHING THAT ISN’T USEFUL, BEAUTIFUL OR JOYFUL.
SIMPLY; BE KIND TO YOURSELF, YOUR HOME AND YOUR WORK PLACE.

The segment featured the home of a single mom whose bedroom was being remodelled for Mother’s Day. Since then the Marilyn Denis Show has reconnected with Urge to Purge to clean out the new home of “Charles The Butler” who recently purchased a “fixer upper” in Southern Ontario.
